Our story
A student-built resource born from a simple observation: the people who need financial knowledge the most are often the ones who have the least access to it.
Who built this
I'm a student currently attending Delbarton School, in Morristown, NJ. Growing up, finance has always fascinated me. It creates opportunities, shapes our society, and holds together our economy.
Inspired by conversations with my grandmother in Brazil, I created Finance-Futures. I realized that people who most need financial knowledge are often ones with the least access to it. Finance-Futures was created to bridge that gap.
I believe learning is most powerful when it's shared.
This isn't just something I built for others — it's also a personal journey. I wanted a place to deepen my own understanding of finance while making that same knowledge accessible to everyone. I believe learning is most powerful when it's shared, and I wanted Finance Futures to be a place where that could happen.
What frustrated me most was seeing how financial literacy is often treated as a privilege. Wealthy families pass down knowledge about investing, building credit, and managing money across generations. Meanwhile, many families simply don't have access to that knowledge — and the gap it creates is enormous. It affects what opportunities people can access, what risks they can take, and how resilient they are when hard times hit.
Finance Futures is my attempt to close that gap, one lesson at a time.
I built Finance Futures with three things in mind. First, it had to be completely free — no paywalls, no premium tiers, no catch. Financial education as a subscription service defeats the entire purpose.
Second, it had to be written in plain English. Most financial content is either too simple to be useful or too jargon-heavy to understand without a finance degree. I wanted something in between — honest, real, and practical.
Third, it had to be built for everyone — not just teenagers, not just adults with existing savings, but anyone at any stage of life who wants to understand how money actually works. Whether you're 15 opening your first bank account or 45 trying to understand your credit score for the first time, Finance Futures is for you.
Finance Futures is a living project. I plan to add more lessons, update content as laws and rates change, and eventually add tools that help people track real financial goals. If there's a topic you want to learn about that we haven't covered yet, reach out — I'd love to hear from you.
